Lower speed limits will lower road deaths - govt

From Morning Report, 6:15 am on 6 May 2019

Lowering speed limits is one way the government is seeking to make roads safer. So far this year the road toll is tracking higher than last year when 377 died in road crashes. Sunday night's death in Taranaki was the 144th for 2019. The Associate Transport Minister, Julie Anne Genter, says the government's Vision Zero road safety plan will seek to halve the number of road deaths over the next decade. She spoke to RNZ reporter Ben Strang as an international road safety week starts.
