Housing Minister Phil Twyford is dismissing claims from National's Judith Collins the government is underwriting millions of dollars worth of KiwiBuild houses based on little more than a casual chat with developers. The underwrite guarantees a minimum price and National asked for documents showing how it was assessed for houses built by Mike Greer Homes. The answer was "there weren't any" but Phil Twyford's office says that was a misunderstanding - there are documents but they are commercially sensitive. Judith Collins is the National Party Spokesperson for Housing and Urban Development. A communications manager at KiwiBuiild says: "KiwiBuild agreements are complex, technical and legal contracas and they are agreed over months of negotiaions."
