IS leader vows revenge in video

From Morning Report, 8:24 am on 30 April 2019

A man believed to be the leader of the Islamic State group has made his first video appearance in five years, vowing to seek revenge for its loss of territory. Abu Bakr, or al-Bagh-dadi has not been seen since 2014, when he proclaimed the creation of a "caliphate" across parts of Syria and Iraq. In this new footage, posted on the militant group's al-Furqan media network, he acknowledges defeat at Baghuz - the group's last stronghold in the region. The BBC's security correspondent Frank Gardner is on the line.
