James Shaw defends Census 2018 data

The National Party is calling the most recent census a "complete and utter shambles". The government will invest more than $16 million in Stats New Zealand in this year's Budget to help fix the mistakes made. The 2018 Census has been labelled a "shambles" by the opposition, and "a disaster" by academics, after long delays in releasing data - some of which is considered too incomplete to even be regarded as official statistics.
