Scams on Chinese social media under-reported

Scams on Chinese social media could be going under-reported, with victims not knowing where to go for help, or finding language a barrier to reporting them. Latest figures show New Zealanders lost $33 million to online scams and fraud last year - a dramatic increase on 2017, when people lost $10 million. But NetSafe says fewer than 20 of the scams reported to them came from WeChat - a social media platform popular among the Chinese community. RNZ reporter Chen Liu has more.
