Police station firearms security audit ordered

The police are trying to work out the safest way for gun owners to surrender firearms made illegal by law changes. Safety became a bigger challenge on Anzac Day when 11 guns were stolen from Palmerston North Police Station. The Police Commissioner has ordered an immediate nationwide audit of firearms security at police stations. But RNZ police reporter Ben Strang says the police already had concerns about security of guns.
