Kauri dieback: Rogue Waitakere hikers served tresspass notices

From Morning Report, 8:53 am on 23 April 2019

Seven people have been served with trespass notices for ignoring track closures in the Waitakere ranges over Easter Weekend. The Auckland Council also handed out 50 warning notices, as part of a tough new strategy to prevent furhter kauri dieback. It says a lot of time has been spent on education in the last year and now is the time for enforcement because some people are still breaking the rules. Steve Pearce is the council's manager for regulatory compliance.
