Primary teachers make call on govt pay offer

From Morning Report, 7:14 am on 8 April 2019

Primary school teachers and principals will say today whether they've voted to accept or reject the government's pay offer. Teachers have gone on strike twice since August to pursue their demands for smaller class sizes, more resources and an increase in salaries. Teachers say the negotiations have been conducted in bad faith, with the Ministry of Education not prepared to increase the value of what's on the table. Whetu Cormick is the president of the Principals' Federation.
