Gun lobby appalled at fast-tracked law change process
The gun lobby is complaining it has been blindsided by a decision to hold just one day of submissions on the government's fast-track gun law changes. Written submissions on the Arms Amendment Act close at 6pm on Wednesday and the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee will hold oral submissions from invited people on Thursday. The chair of the Council of Licenced Firearms Owners Paul Clark tells RNZ reporter John Gerritsen he had been expecting several days of hearings. He says the committee's plans are appalling.
