Auckland iwi's request to ban public scattering of ashes denied

Auckland iwi say scattering the ashes of the dead in public places and waterways is abhorrent and they're calling for it to be banned. But the council says while it's happy to have wider discussions, it won't be outlawing the practice. Our Maori news correspondent Leigh-Marama McLachlan reports.
