Ardern in China: Huawei, trade, security top of agenda
The chair of the New Zealand China Council Sir Don McKinnon says symbolism is an important part of the Prime Minister visit's in Beijing on Monday. Jacinda Ardern will spend just 24 hours in China, as she seeks to put to rest any speculation about the state of the relationship with New Zealand's largest trading partner. There's a lot to discuss - trade, cyber security, climate change, and Spark's 5G proposal with the Chinese company Huawei. Sir Don tells RNZ political editor Jane Patterson it's important for Jacinda Ardern to be seen with the Chinese President and Premier.
