Facebook 'played a part' in Christchurch mosque shootings

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 22 March 2019

Facebook is insisting it's ready for more regulation that would stop killers from being to able to livestream their attacks. It took the social media giant 29 minutes to find out about livestreamed video of the Christchurch massacres last Friday - eight minutes longer than it took police to arrest the gunman. At least 300,000 copies of the video made it to the public. Company spokesman Simon Dilner told RNZ reporter Madison Reidy that some people would have been sharing the images for good reason.
