Submission to entrench Māori seats taken to Parliament
MPs have been told allowing Māori seats to be scrapped through a simple majority vote in Parliament is fundamentally unfair. A bill that would give Māori seats in Parliament the same protection as general seats is one step closer to becoming law. Its supporters presented their submissions before the Māori Affairs Select Committee on Wednesday. Te Aniwa Hurihanganui was there.
