Cape Kidnappers slip: Tour operators hope to get back to work
A Cape Kidnappers tourism operator is cautiously celebrating that his business could soon be up and running again. Gannet Beach Adventures runs tractor trips to a gannet colony along the beach in Hawkes Bay. But the area has been closed since last month, after two tourists walking to the colony were badly injured by a huge slip. The Hastings District Council voted on Tuesday in favour of re-opening the beach, once staff have take any necessary action to reduce risk. Colin Lindsay owns Gannet Beach Adventures, and spoke to Guyon Espiner.
