Mental health groups rally to respond to govt report

From Morning Report, 8:37 am on 21 February 2019

People who've suffered mental distress have rallied in large numbers to tell the government what they think of plans to reform mental health services. Mary O'Hagan says people also want access to the type of talk therapies for psychosis now being used in Scandinavia, Europe and trialled in UK. She says New Zealand ten years ago was focusing on recovery, but it's fallen behind. These days she says the only treatment people in mental distress can reliably access - is drugs. And they're saying they want radical change - not just a reshuffle. Lois Williams reports.
