Nelson fire: 'We're grateful it wasn't worse'
The Prime Minister flys into Nelson on Thursday to see first-hand the extent of the fire damage across the Tasman District. One house has been destroyed, 182 properties have been evacuated, and hundreds more people have spent the night in temporary accomodation. A civil defence emergency was declared on Wednesday just after 8 am. Roger Ball is the Nelson and Tasman Civil Defence area controller. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
