Jacinda Ardern heads to Nelson after horror fire

From Morning Report, 6:39 am on 7 February 2019

The Prime Minister flies into Nelson today to see first-hand the extent of the fire damage across the Tasman District. One house has been destroyed, 235 properties have been evacuated, and hundreds more people have spent the night in temporary accomodation. The fire which has burnt through nearly 2000 hectares is being described as the worst to hit the region since a huge forest fire burned through the Maitai Valley in the 1980s. Morning Report's Alex Ashton is at Civil Defence headquarters in Wakefield.
