Scotland ex-leader faces rape, assault charges

The former first minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, has appeared in court in Edinburgh charged with attempted rape and sexual assault. Mr Salmond was arrested overnight, and denies the 14 charges he is facing. Mr Salmond served as First Minister of Scotland from 2007 to 2014, and he was the leader of the Scottish National Party for over two decades.
