Jami-Lee Ross prepares for return to Parliament

From Morning Report, 7:17 am on 23 January 2019

The former National MP, Jami Lee Ross, has apologised to everybody he hurt last year and is vowing to be the best MP for Botany he can be when he returns to Parliament next month. The MP, who has been largely absent from the public eye since a mental health crisis that led to him being sectioned, has written at length on social media in a two-and-half-thousand-word post he's entitled "Leaving bitterness and hatred behind." In it he damns his former leaders with faint praise, saying he doesn't have any animosity to Simon Bridges and Paula Bennett because, as he puts it, "they were doing all they knew how to do with the skill set they have." RNZ political editor Jane Patterson has been reading Mr Ross's post. She discusses with Susie Ferguson.
