Dangerous pathogen in three Canterbury rivers

From Morning Report, 7:25 am on 19 December 2018

Strains of a dangerous pathogen which can cause kidney failure have been found in three Canterbury rivers. Tests also show the water is polluted with an antibiotic-resistant strain of E coli. Samples were collected from above and below dairy farms on the Ashley, Selwyn and Rangitata rivers in May and September and tested by Massey University's Institute of Agriculture and Environment. We spoke earlier to Environment Minister David Parker.
