Auckland Pride board survives no confidence vote

From Morning Report, 6:41 am on 7 December 2018

Hundreds of members of Auckland Pride voted last night to keep their board. The Board, which runs the Pride festival and parade, had risked being dumped if they lost a no-confidence vote last night over their decision to ban uniformed police at next year's event. The motion was defeated 325 votes to 273. The Auckland Pride board chair Cissy Rock hopes the rainbow community can now unite but acknowledges friendships and relationships have suffered. Ms Rock spoke to RNZ reporter Eva Corlett.
