Tip Top may see same fate as Cadbury Dunedin - expert

A marketing expert says if Tip Top is sold to an overseas company there could be job cuts and product changes similar to what happened to Cadbury in Dunedin. On Thursday Fonterra announced it was considering selling the iconic New Zealand brand, as it looks to shave $800 million of debt. Senior Lecturer of Marketing at Otago University, Dr Rob Hamlin told report Charlie Dreaver it is most likely Tip Top will be bought by a big dairy or food industry player than a stand-alone investor.
