City Rail Link builder’s parent company goes bust

From Morning Report, 7:11 am on 23 November 2018

Engineering firm RCR NZ is set to build New Zealand's largest ever infrastructure project - the City Rail Link. But its parent company, Australian firm RCR Tomlinson, has gone into administration. The firm was awarded the contract to build parts of the Auckland's City Rail Link last month, in a joint venture with Opus International. But last night, RCR Tomlinson announced it's going into administration. The move brings the future of the $3.4 billion rail link - funded jointly by government and the Auckland Council - into question. Alex Ashton has been covering developments. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
