Australia yields nothing on NZers facing deportation

From Morning Report, 7:13 am on 15 November 2018

The new political leadership in Australia is offering no concessions on the treatment and deportation of New Zealanders convicted of serious crimes. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is at the East Asia Summit in Singapore where she met regional leaders, including a first meeting with Australia's new leader Scott Morrison. Ms Ardern says she improved awareness of New Zealand's concerns about the deportations with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrision. RNZ business editor Gyles Beckford is at the APEC summit. He explains that the meeting between Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrision was necessary but little has changed.
