Where else can you see penguins the size of man?

Now to the Waitaki, where a bid to recognise its unique geology could make history. About a year ago, Waitaki District Council started an application to establish a UNESCO Global Geopark - which are areas with sites of international geological significance. If it's successful, it will be the first global geopark not only in New Zealand, but in Australasia. Our tourism reporter Tess Brunton filed this story.
