Race-fixing charges not expected to impact NZ Cup

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 13 November 2018

Those in charge of making sure Tuesday's New Zealand Trotting Cup goes off without a hitch are confident recent race fixing allegations will not affect numbers through the turnstiles. The sport has been rocked by allegations of race fixing involving some of its biggest names. Most have been granted name suppression and are planning to defend themselves when the case comes to court next year. The head of Addington Raceway, Peter Jensen, told RNZ reporter Conan Young the allegations have had no impact on ticket pre-sales for this year's big race, with 20,000 expected to turn up.
