Trade, security on Ardern's agenda at APEC

From Morning Report, 8:48 am on 12 November 2018

Trade and security issues are expected to be top of the Prime Minister's agenda when she attends summits Singapore and Papua New Guinea this week. Jacinda Ardern leaves tomorrow for the East Asia Summit in Singapore where she and other ministers, including Foreign Minister Winston Peters, will hold a series of meetings on issues ranging from the enhanced trading deal known as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, through to China's diplomatic efforts in South east asia and the Pacific. She spends four days in Singapore but less than 24 hours in Papua New Guinea, this year's host of the APEC meeting. RNZ business editor Gyles Beckford will be accompanying the party and joins us now.
