Sessions' dismissal a 'blatant attempt' to stall Russia meddling inquiry - Pelosi

The future of the inquiry into alleged Russian meddling during the 2016 US presidential election is being questioned after Donald Trump fired his Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday. Mr Trump repeatedly berated Mr Sessions for recusing himself from overseeing the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, before demanding his resignation yesterday. Nancy Pelosi, who leads Democrats in the House of Representatives, called the decision a "blatant attempt" to end or impede the investigation. Our correspondent in Washington is Giles Gibson.
