US midterms: A referendum on Trump's presidency

It's mid-term election day in the United States - one third of the seats in the US Senate and the entire House of Representatives are up for grabs. At stake is control of Capitol Hill, where the Republicans are currently ascendant. There's been sizable voter turnout since polling stations opened earlier on Tuesday (local time), and roughly 36 million Americans cast their ballots ahead of time thanks to the "early voting" rules in place in many American states.
