Migrant workers union welcomes exploitation inquiry
A union which represents migrant workers hopes a new investigation into their exploitation will finally reveal the true scale of the problem. The Immigration Minister Iain Lees-Galloway has directed ministry officials to research the exploitation of temporary migrant workers. The officials, assisted by Auckland University researchers, will speak with migrants, international students, businesses and workers, and then recommend policy changes to the Minister next year.
