Chopper crash victim recognised for conservation work

A ranger has been recognised for his services to conservation just weeks after he was killed in a helicopter crash shortly after take-off near Wanaka Airport. Scott Theobold, a Department of Conservation ranger, died alongisde his colleague Paul Hondelink and the pilot Nick Wallis when the Hughes 500 they were in crashed as they set off on an operation to reduce tahr numbers. Our political reporter Jo Moir was at the public service awards at Parliament on Monday night where Mr Theobold's family received his posthumous award.
