Long delays to diagnose life-threatening heart conditions

Auckland heart patients are waiting up to 11 months for a simple and potentially life saving heart scan. The scan, called an echocardiogram, is an ultrasound of the heart and is used to diagnose life-threatening conditions. Though the situation is worst in Auckland, it is affecting patients around the whole country.
