Pittsburgh synagogue shooting: 97-year-old among victims

From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 29 October 2018

US authorities have named the 11 people killed in the mass shooting that targeted worshipers at a synagogue in Pittsburgh. Robert Bowers, 46, opened fire at the Tree of Life synagogue during a Sabbath service. The victims range in age from 50 to 97 years old. Two brothers and a husband and wife are among the dead. Authorities are treating the massacre as a hate crime as they investigate Bowers' history of anti-Semitic online postings. The Mayor of Pittsburgh Bill Petudo has called the attack the darkest day of Pittsburgh's history. Our correspondent in Washington DC is Nick Harper. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
