From Morning Report, 7:11 am on 25 October 2018

A man who gave evidence against one of the country's worst child sex offenders says the first time he spoke in detail about what happened to him was 26 years after the abuse, during a police interview. On Wednesday a jury at the High Court in Auckland returned guilty verdicts for 95 of the 106 charges brought against Alosio Taimo, a former rugby coach, teacher aide and McDonald's manager. Taimo's offending spanned nearly 30 years, with the youngest of the victims just nine years old. One of the victims, whose voice has been masked to protect his identity, told RNZ reporter Matthew Theunuissen he was just 12 when he stayed at Taimo's house with two other boys.
