NZ wastewater drug testing plan to help health data

It's been termed "one large urine test" - a national wastewater drug testing programme for methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and fentanyl. Police Commissioner Mike Bush says the testing is crucial to build a better picture of illicit drug use across the country. But ESR scientists say the testing also has the potential to reveal details about the nation's health. Andrew Chappell is an ESR chemist. He talks to Susie Ferguson.
