Voter registrations surge after Taylor Swift endorses Democrats

There was a surge in voter registrations in the United States after popstar Taylor Swift used her Instagram account to endorse Democrats in Tennessee for the mid-terms, and urge her followers to enrol to vote. Voter registration organisation vote.org. says it's the biggest celebrity spike it has seen, with over 300,000 new signs ups since the post on Sunday, which now has over 2 million likes. It's the first time Swift has used her platform to endorse a political candidate, she kept quiet during the 2016 Presidential election.
