Year of the Sheep for Northland A&P shows in wake of M bovis

It's shaping up to be the year of the sheep at A&P shows in Northland this year. The two biggest shows, at Waimate and Whangarei have chosen not to have a cattle competition for the first time in their history - because of mycoplasma bovis. Only one farm's affected in the north - but show organisers say no risk is better than low risk - and specialty sheep breeders have risen to the challenge to fill the gaps. Chris Mason the chief executive of the Whangarei A&P Society spoke to RNZ Northland reporter Lois Williams
