'Megathrust' may help forecast earthquakes - study
Victoria University researchers believe they have potentially unearthed a way of forecasting earthquakes. They've been able to figure out that just one major fault was responsible for triggering all other faultlines in the Kaikōura quake. And understanding that could change the way scientists forecast quakes in future. Simon Lamb is a geophysicist at Victoria University. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
