Tamihere criticises Auckland Council's Panuku Development

Urban Māori leader John Tamihere says Auckland Council's development arm is corrupt, arrogant and shutting poor people out of housing. Mr Tamihere told the council it is not providing enough social housing and is in breach of the Human Rights Act. Auckland Mayor Phil Goff has responded that Mr Tamihere's argument is ultimately a commercial one because the Waipareira Trust is a developer, and that Mr Tamihere is making unfounded claims.
