Changes needed in mental health help - Universities NZ

RNZ has learned Universities New Zealand, the body representing the country's eight universities, recognises changes need to be made to mental health services provided on campuses. In June, in its submission to the government inquiry into mental health, Universities New Zealand said all campus health and counselling services have "unacceptably long waiting time for students in mental distress". Its executive director Chris Whelan told our reporter Anneke Smith that it is in the very early stages of forming a national strategy for the services it provides.
