Thief of human toe avoids conviction
A man who stole two toes from a human body display in Auckland has hot-footed it from the Wellington District Court a free man after the judge criticised the serious nature of the charges he had been facing. As well as a theft charge relating to taking the toes, Joshua Williams, who is 28, was also accused of interfering with a human body. Ann Marie May was at the hearing. She talks through the details with Guyon Espiner.
