Landlord leaving rental in 'third world' condition - tenants

From Morning Report, 6:17 am on 27 September 2018

Tenants of a group of flats in Whanganui say they're living in Third World conditions because their landlord refuses to do basic maintenance. Our reporter Robin Martin visited the flats and says signs of their poor state of repair are immediately obvious, with exterior panels broken, insulation exposed to the elements and broken windows unfixed. They're owned by the the Berekyah Trust, which blames the damage on the tenants but refused to be interviewed. One of the tenants, a mother of two, showed Robin through her home. Her her voice has been disguised.
