More historical sex abuse revealed at Upper Hutt school

From Morning Report, 6:09 am on 24 September 2018

The Marists have admitted further historical child sex abuse at St Patrick's College in Upper Hutt. RNZ has obtained a report that notes at least three complaints against the late Father Francis "Fred" Durning. The details of only one assault are known, when he was rector at St Pat's in the 1950s. That victim has come forward now to call for the full file on Durning to be released. Durning's victim from St Pat's, who RNZ has agreed not to name, told reporter Phil Pennington it was the first time he's been able to publicly name his attacker. The Marists say they are considering releasing 100 pages of the file on this man's case, but not the full Durning file, as that might breach other people's privacy
