From Morning Report, 6:40 am on 12 September 2018

A government report released on Tuesday says more than 100,000 households are experiencing "energy hardship" and paying more than 10 percent of their income on electricty. The discussion document, which is the first phase of the Electricity Price Review, also found households pay nearly 80 percent more for power than they did in 1990. Matthew Theunissen went to South Auckland and spoke to Anaru McCallum, who says his family doesn't often use a heater to save money on their power bill.
