Repatriation ceremony snub opens old wounds - veterans

From Morning Report, 7:35 am on 11 September 2018

Vietnam war veterans are bitterly angry they were not allowed to be part of a recent ceremony for the repatriation of 27 soldiers who died while serving in South East Asia. At least five of those returned died in Vietnam. The veterans say it's opened up old wounds over the rejection they felt on their return from Vietnam when both the government and the public ignored them. Official recognition didn't happen until 2008. The repatriation ceremony took place at Auckland Airport last month.
