Hundreds more doctors needed for new hospital rosters - DHB report

From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 3 September 2018

Hundreds of extra doctors are needed to staff new hospital rosters, costing more than $35 million. District Health Boards are in the process of bringing in the new rosters following an agreement last year with junior doctors who went on strike over their long exhausting hours. Last week junior surgeons warned the changes are compromising their training and bad for patients - and now a new report released to RNZ under the Official Information Act, backs many of their fears. To discuss the report, RNZ health correspondent Karen Brown joins Susie Ferguson in the studio.
