Pope's response to abuse news 'step in right direction'

From Morning Report, 8:23 am on 22 August 2018

International groups working with victims of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic priests say Pope Francis' unprecedented apology didn't go far enough. Yesterday the Pope apologised to the 1.2 billion Catholics in the world for the abuse. It's the first time a Pope has addressed a letter to the entire Catholic population on the topic. Victim groups say he didn't admit the Vactican had been complicit in cover-ups or spell out how those responsible will be held to account. Bishop of Hamilton, Steve Lowe, joins Susie Ferguson with his reaction.
