Kerala floods: India 'caught by surprise' by rainfall intensity

More than 300 people are dead and 700,000 sheltering in relief camps in southern India as monsoon rains continue to lash the area. The district of Kerala experiences about seventy percent of its annual rainfall in a four-month period but this year has been especially severe.
