Colombian tourists shaken after Turangi robbery

From Morning Report, 7:57 am on 20 August 2018

Two Colombian tourists remain shaken after their car was stopped and forced to hand over cash, luggage and a cellphone just south of Turangi. The two men, who are in the New Zealand working and on holiday were pulling out of a carpark near the Turangi Golf Course on Saturday afternoon when the robbery happened. Detective Sergeant Andy Livingstone told RNZ reporter Logan Church that while this kind of incident is rare, it is especially hard on a community that relies on tourism.
