Jailed man 'struggling' after Australia deportation

From Morning Report, 7:25 am on 17 August 2018

A man who was jailed for 9 years for supplying methamphetamine shortly after being deported from Australia told authorities he was struggling without friends and family and needed the money to bring his mother and brother over to visit. Twenty-eight year-old Kane McArley landed in New Zealand in 2016 after moving with his family to Australia as a six year-old. Once here, he was given a roof over his head for two weeks, thanks to the Australian Government, before meeting up with fellow deportees that he had spent time with on Christmas Island.
